You can take control of your data and display custom metrics without using integrations.
Not all data comes from a connector, and that’s exactly where Manual Widgets come in.
They let you display key stats that aren’t pulled from an integration. Think board-reported KPI's, manually tracked metrics, or one-off figures you need to spotlight. It’s the perfect solution when the data lives outside your usual tools.
✍️ Why Use a Manual Widget?
Add custom metrics not tied to an integration
Highlight key numbers from reports, spreadsheets, or internal systems
Create flexible, static widgets for team updates or strategic overviews
Manually track progress over time with historical data comparisons
🛠️ How to Build a Manual Widget in Hurree
1. Start from Your Dashboard
Click Add a Widget at the top of your dashboard.
2. Pick Your Widget Style
Choose between a number, line, or column chart—whatever suits your data best.
3. Select “Manual Widget Creation”
Instead of connecting to a data source, select the Manual Widget option from the connector screen.
4. Add Your Key Details
You’ll enter:
A Widget Name
The Datapoint Type (e.g., percentage, number)
The actual Datapoint Value
The Date that reflects your most up-to-date info
A Benchmark, if you want to set a goal or performance indicator
5. Customise the Widget Icon
To visually represent the data source or category, choose an icon from our library of 1,640 options. This helps users quickly identify what the widget relates to, even if it isn’t linked to a connector.
6. Hit Finish
Your widget will now appear on your dashboard - ready to view, compare, and update as needed.
🔄 Updating or Adding Data Later?
Manual widgets don’t update automatically, but you can refresh the data anytime.
Here's how:
Edit the Widget
Hover over the widget
Click the three-dot menu
Select Edit/Add New Value
From here, you can:
Change the Datapoint Value
Update the Date
Modify the Type if needed
Each update creates a historical log, allowing you to display comparisons over time. You’ll start to see percentage changes and trends, which are great for spotting movement in key metrics.
📌 A Few Things to Keep in Mind:
Manual widgets are static - you’ll need to manually input updates
All new entries are logged as historical data for future comparisons
Older data won’t appear as the main value, but is stored for tracking
Deleted historical values can’t be recovered, so delete with care!
💡 Pro Tip:
Use manual widgets for board reports, static KPIs, or any other metrics you track outside your core tech stack. They’re also perfect for showcasing targets and goals that remain constant over time.
