If you're experiencing issues with your Harvest widgets, this guide explains the most common errors and how to resolve them. Each error below matches the message you'll see in Hurree.
If you encounter an error that isn't covered below, please contact our support team for assistance.
Your Harvest API key is invalid
Explanation: The API key used to connect your Harvest account is invalid or no longer valid. Harvest uses an API key to verify your identity, and if the key has been regenerated, revoked, or has expired, your widgets will stop retrieving data.
How to solve: Reconnect your Harvest account through Hurree to restore access. Reconnecting re-establishes the connection with a valid API key, and your widgets will begin updating again from the next scheduled sync.
You do not have permission to perform this action
Explanation: The requested resource was found, but your account does not have permission to perform this action in Harvest. This can occur if your user role has changed, access has been revoked, or you have not been granted the appropriate level of access; in Harvest, standard members can typically only see their own time and expenses, while wider reporting requires administrator or manager access.
How to solve: Review your Harvest account permissions, or contact your account administrator and ask them to review your access level. Once the required access has been granted, refresh your connection and try retrieving the data again.
The requested content could not be found
Explanation: The requested Harvest resource could not be located. This may occur if a time entry, project, client, task, or invoice has been deleted or moved within Harvest, or if the reference is incorrect.
How to solve: Review the relevant Harvest account and verify that the resource still exists, then try again. If it has been removed, you may need to update your widget settings or select an alternative data source.
Some of the data provided failed validation
Explanation: One or more errors were encountered while processing this request. This usually means a setting or value being sent to Harvest isn't in the format Harvest expects.
How to solve: Review your integration settings for any incorrect entries and try again. If the error persists, please contact our support team for assistance.
You've reached the Harvest API limit
Explanation: Your account has reached the maximum number of requests permitted within a given period. Harvest applies its limits over short windows, so this is most often triggered when a large volume of data is requested at once.
How to solve: Wait a moment before trying again; your access will resume automatically once the rate limit window resets. If you see this error frequently, consider reducing the number of Harvest widgets refreshing at the same time.
Harvest internal server error
Explanation: An unexpected error occurred on Harvest's servers. This is not caused by any action on your part, and as the issue originates within Harvest's infrastructure, it is outside of our control.
How to solve: Wait a moment and try again, or check your widget after the next scheduled sync period. If the error persists, please contact our support team for further assistance.
