Live Snapshots let you share a Dashboard view that stays current whenever your customer opens it. Instead of manually sending updated screenshots, exports, or static Snapshots, you can give approved recipients secure access to a live version of the Snapshot.
This is especially useful when customers, clients, or external stakeholders need regular access to performance data, but you do not want to keep creating and sending new reports manually.
What is a Live Snapshot?
A Live Snapshot is a shareable Dashboard Snapshot that updates with the latest available Widget data when it is opened.
Unlike a static Snapshot, which captures the Dashboard at a specific moment in time, a Live Snapshot provides approved recipients with a more up-to-date view of the Dashboard data.
Live Snapshots are useful when you want to share data with customers without asking them to log in to your Hurree workspace or wait for a new report to be sent.
When should you use a Live Snapshot?
Use a Live Snapshot when you want to:
Share always-current campaign, sales, marketing, or performance data
Keep customers updated without repeatedly sending new reports
Give clients or stakeholders secure access to the latest Dashboard view
Reduce manual reporting follow-ups
Make customer reporting easier, faster, and more self-service
For example, if you manage reporting for a customer, you could send them a Live Snapshot of their Dashboard so they can check the latest performance data whenever they need it.
How to send a Live Snapshot
Step 1: Open your Dashboard
Open the Dashboard you want to share with your customer, client, or stakeholder.
Choose a Dashboard that already contains the Widgets and data you want the recipient to see.
Step 2: Select Live Snapshot
Open the Dashboard sharing options and choose Via Snapshot.
This creates a Snapshot that can refresh with the latest available Dashboard data when the recipient opens it.
Step 3: Name your Snapshot
Give your Live Snapshot a clear name, and decide whether to send it via email or as a link.
Use a name that will be easy to recognise later, especially if you plan to share multiple Snapshots with different customers or stakeholders.
Step 4: Add recipient email addresses
Enter the email addresses of the people who should be able to access the Live Snapshot.
Live Snapshots use authenticated access, so only approved recipients can open the Snapshot. Ensure the Always Live Data button has been selected to ensure the recipient of the Snapshot can view live data at any time.
Step 5: Send the Live Snapshot
Send the Live Snapshot to your selected recipients. They will receive an email with access to the Snapshot.
Step 6: Recipient verifies access
When the client receives the Snapshot email, they must confirm their email address before opening the Snapshot.
After confirming their email address, a One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the entered email address. They must enter this code to open the Snapshot.
Step 7: Customer views current Dashboard data
Once access is approved, the recipient can view the Live Snapshot.
As it is a Live Snapshot, the data shown is updated from the Dashboard when the Snapshot is opened, helping your customer see the latest available information without needing a new report.
Why use Live Snapshots?
Live Snapshots are useful because they help you share reporting in a way that is current, secure, and easy for customers to access.
Key benefits include:
Always-current data: Recipients can see the latest available Dashboard data when they open the Snapshot.
Less manual reporting: You do not need to keep sending updated versions of the same report.
Customer-friendly sharing: Live Snapshots are ideal for clients, customers, agencies, and external stakeholders.
Secure access: Only approved email addresses can access the Live Snapshot.
Better reporting experience: Customers can check performance when they need it, rather than waiting for another update.
Things to keep in mind
Before sending a Live Snapshot, remember:
Live Snapshots are different from static Snapshots.
Live Snapshots require recipient authentication.
Recipients may need to verify access with a one-time password.
The data shown depends on the Dashboard’s connected data sources.
If Connectors, permissions, or Dashboard data are unavailable, the Live Snapshot may be affected.
Live Snapshots are best for sharing data that needs to stay current.
