How to share a static or live Snapshot of your Dashboard via Slack
Send your Dashboard Snapshots directly to Slack, either as a one-time update or on a schedule, so your team always stays informed.
Note: This is currently a beta feature and may only be available to selected users. It will be rolled out to all users soon.
Step 1: Open the Share Menu
Navigate to your Dashboard
Click the Share button in the top right-hand corner
Step 2: Select Snapshot
Click Share via Snapshot
The Snapshot module will open
Step 3: Choose Slack
At the top of the module, select Slack
You will see three options:
Email
Link
Slack
If you have not connected to Slack yet, follow the guide on how to add a Slack Connector before continuing.
Step 4: Select a Slack Channel
Choose the Slack channel where you want to send the Snapshot
Step 5: Add a Name and Description
Update the Snapshot name if needed
Add a description to give context to your team
You can also use Riva AI Summary to generate a description:
Click the AI icon in the corner of the text box
Step 6: Choose How to Send Your Snapshot
Option A: Send Once
Select Send Once
Choose:
Instant to send immediately
Or select a date and time to send later
Option B: Schedule a Snapshot
Select Schedule
Set:
Frequency
Day of the week
Time of day
Step 7: Configure Advanced Options
You can customize what is included in your Snapshot:
Benchmarks
Dashboard descriptions
Section descriptions
Widget descriptions
Widget comments
Widget Annotations
Use the toggle next to each option:
On (green) to include
Off to exclude
Step 8: Send Your Snapshot
Once everything is set, send or schedule your Snapshot
What Happens Next
Your Snapshot will be delivered to the selected Slack channel
The message will include your description and a link to view the Snapshot
Your team can now easily access and stay up to date on your Dashboard insights directly in Slack.
