If you encounter an issue with your Threads widgets, don't worry, most errors are uncommon and can be resolved quickly. Below, you'll find explanations for the most common Threads widget errors and the recommended steps to fix them. If you're experiencing an error that isn't listed here, please contact our support team for further assistance.

Something went wrong on Threads' end

Explanation: Occasionally, Threads may experience temporary service disruptions or Meta API-related issues that can affect third-party integrations and widgets. As Threads operates on Meta's infrastructure, any platform-level outages or API maintenance windows will affect your widgets. As these issues originate within Threads' platform, they are outside of our control.

How to resolve this: We recommend waiting a few minutes before trying again. Temporary outages are often resolved automatically by Threads and Meta. If the issue persists for an extended period, please contact our support team and we'll investigate further.

Resource not found

Explanation: The content you're trying to access through your Threads widget is no longer available. This can happen if a post has been deleted, removed, or archived by the account owner, or if the associated Threads account has been deactivated, suspended, or has changed its username since the widget was configured.

How to resolve this: Check the relevant Threads account and verify that the post, profile, or content source still exists and is publicly accessible. Note that Threads usernames are linked to Instagram accounts, if the connected Instagram account has changed its username, the Threads handle will have changed too, and you will need to update your connector settings in Hurree to reflect the new username. If the content has been removed, you'll need to select an alternative source for your widget.

You do not have permission to access this resource

Explanation: Your account does not have the required permissions to access the selected Threads resource. This can occur if the connected Threads account has been set to a private profile, if the access token used during setup has expired or been revoked, or if the Meta app permissions granted to Hurree have been restricted or removed by the account owner.

How to resolve this: Check that the Threads account connected to Hurree is still active and set to a public profile, as private Threads accounts restrict third-party data access. If permissions have been changed or the access token has expired, you will need to reconnect the integration. Navigate to Account Settings → Connectors in Hurree, locate your Threads connection, and select Reconnect. You will be prompted to re-authorise Hurree's access through Meta's permissions flow. If the account belongs to another user or your organisation, contact the account administrator to confirm that the necessary permissions have been granted.

Instagram account not linked

Explanation: Threads accounts are created through and permanently linked to Instagram accounts. If the Instagram account associated with your Threads profile has been deactivated, deleted, or unlinked, Hurree will be unable to retrieve data from your Threads widgets. This error can also appear if the Threads account was set up under a different Instagram account than the one currently connected to Hurree.

How to resolve this: Verify that the Instagram account linked to your Threads profile is still active and in good standing. If the Instagram account has been deactivated or removed, the associated Threads account will also be inaccessible until the Instagram account is restored. If the correct Instagram account is active but the wrong one was connected to Hurree, navigate to Account Settings → Connectors, disconnect the existing Threads integration, and reconnect using the correct Instagram account credentials.

Threads API access not approved

Explanation: Access to Threads data through the Meta API requires specific permissions to be approved for your connected app. If the Threads API permissions have not been fully granted, or if Meta has restricted API access for your account type, Hurree may be unable to retrieve data for certain metrics or widget types.

How to resolve this: This is most commonly seen on newly connected accounts or accounts that have recently changed their account type (for example, switching between a personal and a professional/creator account). Threads API access is generally available to professional and creator accounts, if your account is set to personal, certain data points may not be accessible. Check your Threads account settings and ensure your account is set to a professional or creator profile if you require full data access. If you believe this error is occurring in error, please contact our support team with details of your account type and the specific widgets affected.
